As an established custom power supply manufacturer, Viable Power is proud to serve military customers for aerospace, ground based and shipboard applications. We offer temperature and temperature and humidity testing services to meet your specifications with all of our tests being performed in our state-of-the-art facility.

Viable Power’s test equipment includes a 16 cu ft, 10Hp dual stage compressor Cincinnati Sub-Zero temperature chamber and a 16 cu ft, 10Hp dual stage compressor Cincinnati Sub-Zero temperature and humidity chamber. Our temperature and temperature/humidity chambers can be programmed to meet the requirements defined in MIL-STD-810, RTCA-DO-160, MIL-HDBK-2164A, and others. Our equipment is regularly calibrated with results traceable to NIST. Calibration certificates are available.

Features of Our Thermal Chambers

  • Temperature Range: -65°C to +190°C (-94°F to +375°F) Control & Stability: ±0.5°C (±1°F) at steady state condition after stabilization.

  • An average “supply” air temperature change rate of 8°C/min (14.4°F/min).

  • Live Load Testing Capacity is 3,500 watts at -40°C (-40°F)
    2,600 watts at -54°C (-65°F) 1,600 watts at -68°C (-90°F)

  • 10% to 98% relative humidity as limited by a +85°C (+185°F) maximum dry bulb and a +7°C (+45°F) minimum dew point ±0.5°C (±1°F); ±3% relative humidity at steady state conditions after stabilization

  • Two adjustable sliding shelves for easy access to products and to accommodate a range of sizes and number of products. Distributed shelf load capacity is 100 lbs. (45 kg) and concentrated load is 50 lbs (28 kg).

  • A safety relay connection is provided to protect your device under test by removing power to it when the chamber is not running as well as a temperature limit and alarm to protect products under test.

  • Two access ports centered on either side of the chamber plus a cable notch at the door edge for ease of pre-wired device under test placement and a fog-free viewing window and interior light let you see what’s going on inside the chamber.

Through MIL-STD-810, we are able to evaluate the performance, integrity and safety of the power supplies we design when subjected to extreme temperature and humidity conditions.
