Pointe-Claire, July 7, 2022 – Viable Power Conversion Technologies (VIABLE), supports ending violence and human rights violations funded by 3TG ‘conflict minerals’ (tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and its 9 adjoining countries (Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Congo Republic, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.)
As a supplier to many publicly traded US companies, VIABLE is committed to maintaining compliance to Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act, the “Rule”, throughout our supply chain.
VIABLE is a company engaged in the design, manufacture and distribution of power conversion products with its Quality System certified to the AS9100:2016 and ISO9001-2015 standards. As such, all our purchases are sourced through OEMs or franchised distributors.
While we use 3TG in our products, we do not purchase the metals directly from smelters or mines, so we must rely on the source information provided by our suppliers. We are engaged with our direct suppliers to trace minerals back to their origin and ensure responsible sourcing through the supply chain. Letters have been sent to VIABLE suppliers for their commitment to Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act.
Should VIABLE become aware of a supplier whose supply chain includes 3TG metals from the DRC or adjoining countries, we will take the appropriate action to remedy the situation. We expect our suppliers will do the same within their supply chain.
VIABLE is committed to adhering to “Rule” and it is our belief that all VIABLE products are “Conflict Free” by virtue of the fact that all purchases are sourced through OEMs or franchised distributors.
